Yvonne is a Gerontologist, Public Advocate, news editor and a published author of the book It’s Not as Bad as it Sounds (my life with MS & Fibro). She also has relapsing remitting Multiple Sclerosis and Fibromyalgia.
From Yvonne: “My interest in the field of aging and disability is almost life-long. I have always felt that we do not always treat older adults and/or members of the “disabled community” with the respect and kindness they deserve and I am hoping to help change that. Finding out I had “serious medical problems” gave me more empathy and led to an even stronger desire to help others. I have always sided with the “underdog” but now that I realize I am one of them I am fighting harder than ever!”
